My name is Jimmy Moatswi, and I’ve been part of Selibe Phikwe Citrus for the past one and a half years. I’m one of the assistant production managers in the company. My role entails carrying out managerial duties for our section of the farm called Lesedi, that is, planning tasks, organizing available resources, leading staff, and controlling the quality of work in our section of the farm. All this I do under the tutelage of my manager, Mr. Johannes Els.
I hold a BSc in Crop Science from the Botswana College of Agriculture and have 8 years of experience in the agricultural sector. Working in SPC has been an eye-opener for me, not only because of the project’s scale but also because of the different technological practices that large-scale commercial agriculture utilises. I have also been provided with the opportunity to undergo numerous training sessions to hone the necessary skills to progress in the citrus industry.
